Abstract
This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of ginger and ginseng roots in diets on lipid fraction of hyperlipidemic male albino rats . the investigation was done with diets contain 5% or 10% roots of ginger and ginseng to evaluate their effects as hyperlipidemic agents which amounted the above concentration of the diets at the expense of starch. The analysis of the tow roots presence of  17 phenolic compounds in ginger, while ginseng recorded 20 phenolic compounds, Varying in their levels, The obtained results showed that the roots of ginger and ginseng generally improved the clinical blood status (RBCs, WBCs, Hb, Plat), lipid fraction, total cholesterol level, Triglycerides as well as HDL-c, LDL-c and VLDL-c, also the treatment alleviated the risk factor of the hyperlipidemic rats. Liver function (AST, ALT, ALP and GGT) activity as well as total and direct bilirubins. Kidneys function (Urea, Creatinin and Uric acid), Total protein and its fractions (Albumin and globulin), lipids peroxidation and antioxidative enzymes activity (SOD, CAT, and MDA) were readjusted around the improvements of the present lipotropic factors and antioxidative agents of ginger and ginseng roots which hyperlipidemia were alleviated. 10% ginger or 10% ginseng showed the best results compared with the another treatments
